Hope Renovations is a small business in Carrboro, NC 27510. We are bold, fun, inclusive and our goal is to inspire hope in women and older adults for a joyful and fulfilling future. We do this by empowering women to pursue living-wage jobs in the construction trades via our hands-on training program, while our construction program provides repairs and renovations that enable older adults to stay in their homes as they age..

Hope Renovations is an innovative nonprofit with a dual purpose. We empower underemployed women to seek living-wage jobs in the trades while carrying out repairs and renovations in the homes of older adults who are Aging-in-Place.
The Construction Site Supervisor will manage the renovation, repair, modification, and rehabilitation work carried out by Hope Renovations in the community. This position will report to the Director of Construction Operations, and will be responsible for supervising team members and volunteers of varying skill levels. This job will be available starting on January 3rd, 2023.
Coordinate, supervise, and perform hands-on construction tasks including (but not limited to) demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, finish carpentry, landscaping, tiling, light plumbing and electrical. Projects may include critical home repairs, rehabilitation, renovations, accessibility modifications, maintenance-related tasks, etc.
Manage the administrative aspects of project planning including subcontractor coordination, permitting, material orders, client communication, and other project-related logistics.
Ensure a positive, welcoming, and inclusive work culture.
Provide on-the-job training to apprentices, training program participants and volunteers.
Follow all safety protocols and ensure that other team members/volunteers do the same.
Maintain a safe and clean work site.
Communicate with and develop positive relationships with homeowners, community partners, volunteers, and staff.
Adhere to the project’s designated budget and timeline.
2+ years of on-site experience in construction/skilled trades
1+ years of experience supervising individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences
Strong construction knowledge and skills including carpentry, framing, demolition, surface treatments and finishing (i.e. painting, tile, drywall), and basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical
Strong communication skills

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

Ability to complete projects on time with limited supervision
